Who is this for?

Adults 18+ in the Oakland, San Francisco, Bay Area who want to produce, mix, or DJ from complete beginners to advanced creators.

Do I need experience or my own gear?

No experience is required. Our intro courses are beginner‑friendly and we teach you how to make music from scratch. You’ll need a laptop with your DAW installed (Ableton Live or Logic Pro). In the studio we provide high‑end analog gear, controllers, headphones, and professional studio rooms, so you don’t need to own expensive equipment to start.

What courses do you offer?

Our core 10‑week programs include: Music Production in Ableton Live or Logic Pro Live DJing Mixing & Mastering (intermediate–advanced) Advanced Mixing / Studio Engineering We also run shorter or semi‑regular classes in areas like sound design, rhythm & beat production, music fundamentals, and home studio recording. What happens on the Free Studio Tour & Music Gameplan?

You’ll visit The Grill Studios in Emeryville, see Studio A, Studio B, and Lounge 100, meet an instructor, and check out the gear and class spaces. From there, we’ll talk through your experience, goals, and schedule, and create a simple 3–6 month roadmap for your music. If a course is a match, we’ll recommend the best level and start date. No pressure, no commitment required.

How much do the courses cost, and are there payment plans?

Our 10‑week programs are a serious but manageable investment in your music. You can either: Make a one‑time payment and optionally finance it through Klarna / Afterpay, or Use our Pay‑as‑you‑learn plan with 3 monthly payments. We’ll walk you through both options on your tour so you can choose what feels best for your budget and timeline.

Is there community or a certificate when I finish?

Yes to both. You’ll join a community of local producers and DJs through events like our weekly Beer & Beats night (every Tuesday at 7 PM) and our online Discord space. It’s a great way to meet collaborators and get ongoing feedback. When you complete a course, you’ll receive an Anthem Music Academy certificate. We’re not an accredited college, but our focus is real‑world, hands‑on skills that help you confidently create, perform, and release your own music.
